R.L. Bonsai was born in cybersecurity — where 14-hour days, constant alerts, and screen fatigue are the norm. The founder didn't need another app or a meditation subscription. He needed something alive. Something slow. Something that couldn't be hacked.
The Origin
Working in cybersecurity means your nervous system is always on. Threat alerts, incident response, late-night rotations. The burnout isn't dramatic — it's a slow drain that most people in tech just accept as normal.
Bonsai changed that. The practice of shaping a small tree — pruning, wiring, waiting — requires a kind of attention that screens can't provide. It's not mindfulness branding. It's dirt under your fingernails and a reason to look up from your monitor.
R.L. Bonsai exists to share that experience with others in the industry. We buy trees, give them away, and teach people how to care for them. That's it.
